With the project “Blått Rom” four of Norway’s best blues musicians have joined forces to revive known and unknown materials from labels like Chess, Cobra and Vee-Jay.
All recordings on the album is done live in two days, in the same room, with small amps, without headsets. The result has generated waves of enthusiasm throughout the blues world.
The album “Blått Rom”, with songs from veterans like Muddy Waters, Elmore James and Walter Jacobs, is an uncompromising tribute to the old blues and gave the four a Norwegian Grammy nomination for 2015.
The musicians are Richard Gjems (harmonica), Øyvind Stølefjell (vocals, piano), Ronnie Jacobsen (vocals, guitar) and Robert Skoglund (drums). These are men who are brought up on blues from childhood. Men who have played with legends like Taildragger, Louisiana Red, Bob Stroget and Eddie Kirkland. Together they play Chicago blues in the absolute elite.
