High Red, formerly known as The Douglas Group, have visited Svalbard and Dark Season Blues several times before.

Every once in a long while things just seem to come together naturally, as if they had been aligned in the stars, or perhaps by destiny. Such is the story of the creation of The High Red and The Douglas Group.

Hailing from the heartlands of both the United States and Norway, the combined members of the The Douglas Group are on a mission to spread their musical message to audiences the world over. With nothing short of awe-inspiring live performances, TDG will embark on a musical journey right in front of your eyes and ears. And all you have to do is witness.

With countless appearances as the backing band for world-class touring acts (Michael Landau, Kirk Fletcher, Bobby Jones, Albert Cummings, etc) in Scandinavia, Europe, and the USA, it was only a matter of time before Jon, Per, Iver, and Adam were to embark on their own musical endeavor – as the The Douglas Group.

Drawing inspiration from heavy study and upbringing in gospel-infused soul music and playing the blues everywhere from Los Angeles to Stockholm, these boys create a genre-splitting version of urban sleek and rural grit.

With Adam Douglas’ vocal prowess and avant-garde guitar playing, Per Øystein Erstad’s command of the bass, Jon Reidar Furulund’s relentless groove behind the drum kit, and Iver Olav Erstad’s mastery of the Hammond Organ, Clavinet, Rhodes, and piano, The Douglas Group has a message for you… Are you ready to listen?
