Stan «The Man» Webb is back in Norway for the first time in years, and only at Svalbard!
Still led by legendary guitarist/frontman Stan Webb, Chicken Shack started in the British Blues Boom of the 1960s, exactly 50 Years Ago this year. The band has featured an astonishing array of talent, including Fleetwood Mac’s Christine McVie (Christine Perfect).
Stan Webb is one of a very few European guitarists from the 1960s who influenced a generation of British Blues performers. Together with the likes of John Mayall, Eric Clapton, and Jimmy Page, Stan helped make Blues popular and fashionable in the UK.
Chicken Shack charted with the slow Blues classic «I‘d Rather Go Blind» as well as the beautiful «Tears In The Wind». They do classics like «The Thrill Is Gone» and their own «Poor Boy». Many will remember them from Notodden Blues Festival 1997.
Stan has always remained true to the Blues and never strayed from this honourable course. Stan Webb, one of the greatest ever Blues guitarists, continues to tour the world. A new album will be released in the near future.
